Draping METHODOLOGY
Prior to my arrival in Vancouver, I had sketched out the design for this dress. Stepping into the fabric store, I stumbled upon the exact fabric I had envisioned for my sketch. The inspiration behind the design stemmed from admiring Zimmerman's Resort 2019 collection. My aim was to capture a sense of femininity, softness, and romance in the dress, aligning with my personal design aesthetic. I believe this creation truly embodies my vision.
The journey of draping this dress was incredibly fulfilling. Each component of the dress was meticulously cho-sen, and I anticipated working with each one. Draping the bodice proved to be a significant challenge. Ensuring each piece smoothly conformed to the body and experimenting with the grainline required careful attention, yet it provided invaluable insights into how fabric drapes over the body.
