Zero-Waste Pattern-making

I started the Zero-Waste Jacket by using the men's blouson block in Optitex, trying to make it look Oversized. I chose to reduce the block's length to better fit my concept since, although it offered the required width, it was too long. I mirrored the front panels to match the rear and positioned them on either side after designing the back as a single piece. A small curvature in the shoulders made it easier to fit the sleeve.
I created a casing using the jacket's hem to add elastic, giving it the form of a bomber jacket. Additionally, the sleeve cuffs also have elastic, which made my wrists fit better. I decided to use a standard metal zipper for the closure, which kept the design straightforward but functional. The collar's triangle design added a distinctive geometric element that complemented the overall design. I reinforced the neckline using the semicircles as facings to completely do away with patch pockets while keeping a neat and cohesive design.
